oh hohoho, that is huge! a huge ika on a stick! let's try it. [victor] good morning everybody![charly] hey! [victor] it's victor and charly and today we are over here at tsukiji market.
Kanda Tokyo, [charly] now when people think about tsukiji market, they always think about the tuna auctions. [charly] but no, there's actually- [victor] there's moooooree! [charly] there's so many markets and stuff like that, you can sample a lot of japan's street food.
[victor] yeah, so they have, like, a variety of stuff out here so, without further ado, let's go get our food on! [charly] let's go. [victor] so everybody's been recommending thistamagoyaki... shop. and what-- all it is, is just kinda like ... just eggs. and they add some kinda sauce to it, but you can see there's this huuuuge line here. we're going to go wait in line and see, you know, what the hype is all about. try some of this tamagoyaki for ourselves. [shop attendant] nice camera![victor] arigatou gozaimasu. (thanks!) [victor] nice tamago!
[shop attendant] *laughs* [shop attendant] thank you! ja ne~ (see you) [victor] arigatou gozaimasu. [victor] ok, so one of the cool things about this tamagoyaki it's made by various various layers of like egg. mixed in with the dashi, it gives it a very unique flavor. slightly a little fishy but overall kind of sweet. on the top here you can see thedaikon which is kind of like a large ra-- radish i believe? mountain radish or something like that, japanese radish. it's really huge and it's very delicious.
it's like a sponge of flavor. delicious~ [charles] we just had to stop to have some amazing fresh food, fresh seafood i mean and what we got, we got some hotate with some uni (sea urchin) on the top that's the first time i see this kind of combination. wow that is great! even if you're not really used to the taste of sea urchin... it doesn't taste too much like the oceanand the scallop is a really really fresh, it's still piping hot. yeah, i'm justgoing to finish that.
delicious. [victor] i spotted this place over here out of the corner of my eye and they have a lot of variety of meat, as well as seafood. they have wagyu beef, they got matsuzaka beef. they also got some crab, they got some abalone, and stuff like that. and they also cook it like, right here on the spot, so it's nice and super fresh. for me though, i think i'm going to go for the 1000 yen wagyu beef. and see how that goes. so this here is the 1000 yen wagyu beef.comes with one, two, three, four slices.
so i'm going to go ahead and give it a tryright now. okay. okay! okay this is good. the meat is very soft. the sauce that they have on it, is very delicious, very savory. a little bit peppery, but also has like a really sweet kind of like taste to it as well. [charly] you look so happy. [victor] i am happy~ [charly] oh i'm definitely going to have the ika (squid). that just looks amazing he put the whole ika on the grill...
tops it up with some groundpepper, before adding some yuzu sauce and then torches it. that looks beautiful and delicious. [charly] oh hohoho, that is huge! huge ika on a stick! very soft, there's the pepper on the top that gives it a sort of spice and crunchiness to it. plus it's charred, so you get that charcoal, nice taste to it. there's the sweetness ofthe tare on top. that's perfect. [victor] of course you can't go to tsukiji market without trying some of the delicious sushi. now i'm not really good at this, doing the whole upside down thing here.
let's give this a shot. you can definitely tell it's fresh. texture's very soft, very flavorful. it's just delicious and to be honest, i just want to go in and eat some more. i'm gonna be greedy here and i'll try some of the ootoro (fatty tuna) it's really good, really good. because of the fatty texture of it and because the meat is like so loose, really easy to chew through. and it has, like, really nice, you know, kick of flavor to it. especially when you dip it with like, the soy sauce.
add little bit of wasabi in there...perfect combination. highly recommend it [charly] this is ichigo daifuku, which is mochi with strawberry on the top and it's filled with sweet beans. it's coated in powdered sugar so it's like, it can get a bit messy, but hey let's try it out that strawberry tastes awesome. strawberries in japan tastes really, really good. sweet bean paste, perfect and with that mochi. really fresh. really sweet. [charly] so that was all the street food we can get today, in one day in tsukiji. that was pretty good. we had the tamagoyaki, that was super sweet and delicious. [victor] yeah, we also had the squid, the beef...
[charly] and we had an amazing ichigo daifuku for desert. [victor] yeah, and i mean, this entire area is pretty much like a, quick like paradise if you want like seafood. that's literally fresh. so if you guysliked what you saw today feel free to give us a little subscribe, hit that little like button, and if you want to see notifications of new videos coming out,hit that little bell somewhere over here down there...[charly] and if you want us to go try some other foods if you have any suggestions please leave a comment below.don't hesitate.
