The Pros Traveling With Your Siblings

Most people aren't lucky enough to travel let alone with their siblings. Traveling can be stressful and bring out the best or worst in everyone. Luckily, since your siblings are family, you can do a little sibling throw down and still come out on top together. With years of noogies, hitting each other, and tattling, you're still the best of friends.

My siblings drive me insane and sometimes I want to strangle them, but at the end of the day, I love them to death. We share the same blood. As Elijah on The Originals would say, "Always and forever."

I had the amazing opportunity to travel with my sisters and brother. If you can travel with your siblings, I guarentee you will have a great time.

You can be stupid

Birds of a feather flock together. You don't have to hide your quirks because your siblings have been there most of your life. It's okay to fart in front of each other and crop dust after, because let's face it, since you're family, you can always rag on them later. Besides, you can do outrageous things you would never do in front of your friends.

Also, for those ridiculous ugly pictures you don't want anyone to see... Well, your siblings have got you covered.

You can spend time in their company

As we get older, it becomes harder and harder to spend time together. The time you spend exploring a new place marks memories you have with each other. It gives you time to revamp your relationship.

You can have a laugh at your parent's expense

Since you share common ground with your siblings, you can always have a laugh about your parents. My siblings' and my favorite stories to tell are about the stupid things our parents have done. They usually start like, "Do you remember that one time where mom almost fell in the lake from the raft?" or "Do you remember when dad said, 'You swear too fucking much. I don't know where you learn that shit from.'"

Strength in Numbers

Part of the perks of traveling with a sister or brother are strength in numbers. Everywhere you go, if your brother is with you, he's most likely mean mugging the scum that wanna get fresh with you. There's always the one person with the loud mouth sister who will also scare them off. There's nothing scarier than going up against siblings because at the end of the day, they've got each other's backs and you will lose.

You can take on challenges

Your siblings are your safety net and blanket. If anything, your siblings are not there to hurt you. They're there to help and encourage you. Are you taking on that mountain? Hike away! They'll be in front or behind you.

You've got a partner in crime

All those evil little nooks and crannies... Yeah, your siblings know those too. When it comes to playing harmless pranks or ganging up on each other, you've got it down. Need a drinking buddy? Your siblings have got you covered.

You have your confidant

Your siblings know the best and worst about you. They understand you (or try) and sometimes you end up divulging your deepest darkest secrets to them. Of course, it never hurts to have a bit of alcohol involved, but they won't judge you... Too much.

The best is yet to come

Your siblings can bring out the best in you like your friends have never done. At some point you will have an epiphany that these people have been by your side your entire life and will continue to do so. There will be more love, compassion and respect for each other.
